International Heritage Photographic Experience

International Heritage Photographic Experience

Angela lead the United States’ entry into the International Heritage Photographic Experience, an international photography event for teens, in 2010 and 2011, while managing public programs at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. She organized a regional youth photography competition in southwestern Pennsylvania, oversaw the judging panel and selection process, and coordinated with the Museum’s exhibits team to host a public exhibition of the top entries.

In 2010, Angela accompanied the two winning teen photographers to Strasbourg, France to participate in the IHPE summit at the Palace of Europe. Photographers and program coordinators from many nations gathered for a full day experience, during which Angela offered brief remarks to acknowledge the U.S.’s first entries. (A framed photo by one of the Pittsburgh teens still hangs in her home today.)
